Class description

Our Outdoor Classroom is a drop-off, rain or shine outdoor learning programme suitable for children ages 3 and up. During these 2-hour sessions, children engage in exploratory activities within the natural environment, meaningful interactions with peers and guides, and reflective experiences that encourage self-discovery and character development.

  • Child-led learning and exploration

  • Opportunities to develop important life and social skills

  • Builds upon children’s learning and communication skills

  • Encourages creativity, problem-solving and independence

Each session’s activities are inspired by nature, children’s prior understanding and knowledge, and their interests. Everything else unfolds organically, driven by their actions, thoughts, ideas and interactions with peers and the environment. The possibilities are endless! This is the way we believe learning in the early years should be.

Class info

Each of Our Outdoor Classroom classes consists of little explorers of mixed ages, with a 1:5 guide to child ratio. Such small class sizes adhere to the current safe distancing guidelines, and encourage free exploration and creative individual expression within a safe and supportive environment. Our guides bond and build positive relationships with each child, and become strong advocates for their learning and holistic development.

We also offer weekly Chinese-immersion Outdoor Classroom classes on Monday afternoons. See schedule below.

One-time only trial classes ($78 for weekdays and $84 for weekend classes) are possible, subject to availability.

**Please email us at info@rootsandboots.sg with your child’s name, age, and your preferred class from the selection above.
